How Much Should I Trim With The Silent Paw Pro

For Clear or Light-Coloured Nails:

When trimming clear or light-coloured nails, you'll typically be able to see the pinkish "quick" inside the nail, which should be avoided. Use the Silent Groom Pro to gently grind only the transparent portion of the nail.

As you grind, look for a small black dot in the center of the nail's cross-section. This indicates you're nearing the quick. Stop when you see the dot to prevent injury.

For Dark or Black Nails:

With dark or black nails, the quick isn't visible. Grind small sections at a time and watch for any texture or colour changes in the nail’s cross-section. This will help you avoid cutting too deeply and ensure your pet's safety.

What If My Pet Is Still Anxious About The Grinder?
